This painting of Hope Cove in South Devon captures the view of both beaches in the winter sun. Painted in a series of layers the foreground texture creates depth and form. The sea reflects the ambient light and tone of the sky creating harsh shadows and highlights in the landscape. A great sense of atmopshere and perspective was achieved in this painting.
